MY STORY

Brian began life in the Scottish Highlands, before making his way south to train at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. However, his training unfortunately got derailed by the Covid Pandemic! This did not bother him much though. Whilst colleagues and family members engaged with cringe zoom quizzes, he instead trained to be a digital marketer whilst his musical theatre training was on pause. After his digital marketing certification, he took to TikTok and began making videos that allowed a creative outlet whilst his college's doors were shut.

Upon graduating, one side of his life was a working actor and the other, a social media content creator. Having worked with many huge brands on social media content and appeared in a number of profile productions, he could not ask for a better combination of professions. Brian has been invited to various events and to share his expertise at renowned institutions such as: Spotlight, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Actors Coaching International and MCM Comic Con. He has also been invited by various mainstream media outlets to speak on various topics relating to social media and has regularly been invited on BBC Radio Scotland and has also been invited to STV Radio and Forth 1.

He is also a huge advocate for the safety of young people online and has regularly spoken about this topic. While many young creators find this aspect boring and tedious, he is adamant that the dangers of social media are real and that they should learn to be savvy with it for longevity of their careers.

It is Brian's belief that actors are the prime type of individuals to become professional content creators. Why? Social media creators require all of the skills that actors receive in drama school training. If you can tell a story, you can make a vlog. If you can do an accent, you can make a skit. If you can get rejected, you can upload another video. There are many parallels between acting and social media, but crossing the gap isn't always immediately obvious - and that's why Actors and Social Media was set up.
